Terms of Service
Last updated 13 September 2026
These terms govern access to and use of Canvas, provided by LEGAL ENTITY NAME. By accessing Canvas you agree to them.
Where your organisation has signed a separate written agreement covering Canvas, that agreement governs and prevails over these terms to the extent they conflict.
Accounts
Access requires an account issued by your organisation's administrator or by us. You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for activity that occurs under your account. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.
Acceptable use
- Do not use Canvas unlawfully, or to build or host anything unlawful.
- Do not attempt to breach or circumvent authentication, authorisation, sandbox isolation, tenancy boundaries or rate limits.
- Do not probe, scan or load-test the service without our written permission.
- Do not upload malware, or content you have no right to share.
- Do not use Canvas to generate material that infringes others' rights or violates applicable law.
Your content
You retain ownership of the content you submit and of the applications and documents Canvas generates for you from it. You grant us the limited licence needed to host, process and transmit that content in order to operate the service — including transmitting it to the model provider your administrator has configured.
You are responsible for having the rights necessary to submit your content, and for ensuring that submitting it does not breach any obligation you owe to anyone else.
Generated output
Canvas produces code, documents and other output using large language models. Such output can be incorrect, incomplete, insecure or unsuitable, and similar output may be generated for other customers. You are responsible for reviewing, testing and validating any output before relying on it, deploying it, or putting it in front of your own users.
Canvas's validation and review features assist that process; they do not replace your own engineering, security and legal review.
Third-party services
Canvas integrates with third-party services including model providers, identity providers, source control and deployment targets. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms, and we are not responsible for them.
Availability
We aim to keep Canvas available but do not commit to any particular level of availability unless a separate written service level agreement says otherwise. We may modify, suspend or discontinue features, and may perform maintenance that interrupts access.
Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these terms, for risk to the security or integrity of the service, or as required by law. You may stop using Canvas at any time. On termination, your right to access the service ends; content may be deleted after any period stated in a separate agreement.
Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Canvas is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied or statutory, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, or uninterrupted or error-free operation.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or exemplary damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of Canvas.
Insert the aggregate liability cap agreed with counsel — commonly fees paid in the preceding twelve months.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service changes and will revise the date shown above. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of GOVERNING LAW / JURISDICTION, and the courts of GOVERNING LAW / JURISDICTION have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising from them.
